LONG BEACH -- Homicide detectives are seeking the public's help on the murder of a 23-year-old man who died from gunshot wounds late Friday near the downtown area.
The victim, identified as Brian Johnson Dailey, was shot at about 10:15 p.m. in the area of 10th Street and Linden Avenue, according to police spokesperson Marlene Aarona.
Officers at the scene said Dailey had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to upper torso, the spokesperson added.
Dailey was rushed to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, according to Aarona.
However, several hours later, Dailey succumbed to his injuries.
The incident is being investigated as gang-related and the investigation remains ongoing, Aarona said.
