ALAMEDA -- The 35-year-old man who collapsed and died aboard a reserve fleet ship in Alameda Point was identified Wednesday as Juan Lozaya of Oakland, authorities said.
Exactly what caused Lozaya's death on Tuesday is not yet known, though police say foul play is not suspected. His shipmates called 911 at 10:53 a.m. Tuesday to report that Lozaya collapse while onboard a ship docked at Pier 2, according to Alameda police.
Fire crews and paramedics tried to resuscitate Lozaya but were not successful. An autopsy was performed Wednesday but a cause of death was not available.
