The Foothill-De Anza Community College District has received a $3.5 million pledge from Krause Foundation.
The bequest makes Gay and Bill Krause the largest donors to the Foothill-De Anza Foundation, when combined with the couple's previous donations of $1.8 million.
The new commitment includes $1 million in unrestricted funds, and $2.5 million as continuing support for the Krause Center for Innovation at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. The gift will fund the position of director of strategy and marketing for the center and will create an endowment for a professor/teacher-in-residence position and programs.
The Krause Center for Innovation helps teachers transform their practice by using technology in innovative ways to deepen learning and engage and inspire students. The center offers professional development for K-12 and community college teachers and administrators, and has served more than 15,000 educators.
