KENSINGTON -- An 8-year-old girl was flown to Children's Hospital Oakland after a tree limb fell on her late Thursday afternoon, a fire official said.
According to Larry Carr, battalion chief of the El Cerrito Fire Department, the girl was at a friend's house in the 100 block of Ardmore Way around 4:30 p.m. when a tree limb fell on top of her as she tumbled and landed on the lawn below.
Carr did not describe the specific chain of events that resulted in the girl's fall.
Crews treated the girl at the home before taking her to Cerrito Vista Park on Moeser Lane in El Cerrito where she was flown out for further treatment.
She was alert when she was treated at the home, Carr said.
