OAKLAND -- Police are investigating the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Oakland man outside his home Thursday afternoon.

A 16-year-old boy was shot at but not hit, police said.

The man was shot at 1:25 p.m. in the 2000 block of 99th Avenue, police said. He was taken to the trauma center at Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he died. The boy was not injured.

Police have not released the name of the man killed and had few details on the killing Thursday. No one has been arrested and a motive in the shooting was not released.

The killing is the 67th in Oakland this year.
