HAYWARD -- Health care experts will share information and answer questions about the Affordable Care Act at a community meeting Saturday in South Hayward that will include free optometry, dental and blood pressure screenings.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Regional Director Herb Schultz will be joined by Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center CEO David Vliet and Alameda County Health Care Services Agency Director Alex Briscoe at the forum sponsored by Congressman Eric Swalwell. They will discuss health care options and financial assistance available to purchase health insurance through Covered California, which begins enrollment Oct. 1.

The forum takes place 2 to 4 p.m. at Glad Tidings Church of God in Christ, 27689 Tyrrell Ave.
