"Dancing With the Stars" unveiled a Season 17 cast this morning that includes cancer patient Valerie Harper, a "Glee" star, two "Saved By the Bell" alums and a former NFL wide receiver.

The cast was announced on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Harper, 74, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer earlier this year, and given three to six months to live. Amid new reports that she is close to remission, Harper said on "GMA," "I'm moving in the right direction. So as my husband said, 'Let's just buy time, Val.'"

Harper recently filmed a movie role and joined a reunion of "Mary Tyler Moore Show" actresses on TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland."

"Dancing With the Stars," which has seen its ratings decline and audience grow older in recent seasons, is shaking things up this time around. The cast includes personalities known to younger MTV viewers (Snooki!) and fans of the ABC Family hit, "Pretty Little Liars" (Brant Daughtery). There are also three new pro dancers.

The biggest change is that the show will now air just once a week, without a separate results program. The season begins Sept. 16 (8 p.m., ABC).
