HAYWARD -- No injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus just a few blocks northeast of the Winton Shopping Center, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash, which remains under investigation, happened about 7:48 a.m. at the intersection of West Winton and Stonewall avenues, said Officer Kevin Bartlett, and involved a bus operated by Durham School Services.

When officers arrived they discovered three vehicles -- a school bus, a green Ford Explorer and another vehicle -- had collided.

Neither the bus driver nor the eight children inside were injured, Bartlett said.

The crash forced officers to shut down at least one lane of traffic.

The SUV was towed from the scene and officers reopened all lanes of traffic just before 10 a.m.
