SAN JOSE -- San Jose State's Bené Benwikere was released from the hospital late Friday night after being diagnosed with a concussion.

Benwikere was taken by stretcher from the field in the third quarter of Friday's 40-12 loss to Utah State. He collided with teammate Christian Tago on a tackle, his helmet popped off and he spent several minutes laying motionless on the ground.

He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose. All tests were negative and he was released and was at home resting Saturday.

Benwikere tweeted, "Hello everyone!!! Thank you for all the get well wishes, texts and most importantly prayers. Much appreciated."
