SAN FRANCISCO -- A 6 1/2-month-old baby's death in the city has been deemed suspicious and was under investigation Tuesday, police said.
Just before 12:30 a.m., San Francisco police responded to San Francisco General Hospital for a report that a baby boy had died, said Officer Gordon Shyy.
Police said the infant's mother, who lives in Ingleside, carried her baby into the hospital and it was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in the death, according to a police report.
The cause of death was not known but a medical examiner determined the child's death to be suspicious and police were investigating, Shyy said.
No additional information on the mother or child was released.
