SAN MARTIN -- Former Cal star Max Homa, in his pro debut, finished eagle-birdie to shoot a 5-under 66 in the third round of the Frys.com Open on Saturday at CordeValle Golf Club.

With a three-round score of 10-under 203, Homa was in a five-way tie for seventh, five shots back of Brooks Koepka, who leads the tournament at 15-under.

Homa, who is playing on a sponsor's exemption, looms as a contender heading into Sunday's final round. He won the Pac-12 and NCAA individual titles in May, also helping the U.S. Walker Cup team to a victory over Great Britain/Ireland last month.

Vijay Singh also eagled the 17th hole, playing in the group behind Homa's, with a tap-in on the reachable par 4. He finished with a 65 for a 12-under 201 total.

George McNeill at 13-under, and Jimmy Walker, at 12-under, each matched the tournament course record with 62s. McNeill is tied with Jason Kokrak for second place and Walker is in a three-way tie for fourth with Singh and Robert Garrigus.
