FREMONT -- The Fremont Symphony Orchestra will kick off its 50th anniversary season Saturday night, offering a slate of music by composers from around the globe.

The concert, titled "World Tour: Unity," will feature several compositions, including the final movement of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4; A.R. Rahman's Academy Award-winning score from the film, Slumdog Millionaire; and a selection from Ennio Morricone's film score from Cinema Paradiso.

The orchestra's performance is scheduled for 8 p.m., at Ohlone College's Smith Center, at 43600 Mission Blvd. Free parking is available at all performances, with a complimentary shuttle to and from the concert hall and the parking lot.

Ticket prices range from $20 for students to $49 for adults.
