NEWARK -- A 51-year-old man killed last week after his Jeep slammed into a tree at the intersection of Dairy Avenue and Newark Boulevard has been identified as San Joaquin County resident Shawn Tahmoor, police said Thursday.
Tahmoor, of Manteca, died after suffering injuries in the Oct. 11 crash, said Cmdr. Mike Carroll.
On the night of the wreck, officers responded at 9:47 p.m. to a report of a collision and when they arrived learned that a 1995 Jeep had hit a tree head on, police said.
Tahmoor, the Jeep's sole occupant, was taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center in "grave condition," police said, but died upon his arrival at the hospital.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation on Thursday.
