Three suspects were arrested early Thursday on allegations they were casing a San Rafael neighborhood to steal mail and property.
Desirae Everett, 32, of Oakland was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property. She was also booked on warrants alleging drug crimes, theft and child cruelty.
Jasmin Jones, 20, of San Anselmo and Aaron Throwers, 30, of Pittsburg were booked on suspicion of prowling and possessing stolen property.
The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m., when police received a report of suspicious people possibly stealing mail on Captains Cove Drive. Police found Jones and Throwers in the area, said San Rafael police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher.
Jones told police she lived in the neighborhood, but police determined she was an acquaintance of a resident's daughter, Rohrbacher said.
Police stopped Everett as she was driving from the area, searched her and the car and found allegedly stolen mail and clothing.
"They had all come to the area together," Rohrbacher said. Police suspect Throwers was acting as a lookout.
Everett was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Bail was set at $10,000 for Jones and Throwers.
