SAN FRANCISCO -- Police are investigating a shooting early Sunday in San Francisco, authorities said.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1:15 a.m. on Taylor Street between Post and Sutter streets, police said. Witnesses said they heard a commotion, then gunfire and a silver sedan speeding from the scene, but investigators did not find a shooting victim.
Later, Oakland's Highland Hospital notified San Francisco police about a 26-year-old man who came to the hospital with a gunshot wound, police said.
The man refused to cooperate with police and will be arrested by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office once he leaves the hospital for unrelated felony warrants, according to police.
The shooting remains under investigation.
