OAKLAND -- A 23-year-old man was found fatally shot Wednesday morning inside a vacant East Oakland house, police said.

The man's name was not released pending notification of relatives. He was an Oakland resident.

Friends found the man about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday inside the house in the 2700 block of 76th Avenue, which runs between MacArthur Boulevard and Hillside Street in the Eastmont district.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. It has not been determined yet when he was shot.

Police don't have a motive yet for the killing and no arrests have been made.

Police said the friends were looking for the man because they were concerned about not having heard from him.

Even though the house is vacant, police said numerous people have been hanging out there recently, including the slain man.

Police are trying to determine who owns the home.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or a tip line at 510-773-2805 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
