CORRALITOS -- More than three weeks after a man was found dead in a barn fire on Pioneer Road, DNA tests to determine the man's identity remain incomplete.

Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputy Ryan Kennedy said Tuesday that DNA evidence from the fire has been sent to a California Department of Justice lab, but it often takes four weeks to get results.

The man was found after the fire destroyed a barn at 195 Pioneer Road the morning of Oct. 11. Firefighters have said that the deceased man might have lived in the barn, but authorities have not confirmed it.

The barn had two levels and included an upstairs bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Cal Fire has not yet released the cause of the blaze.
