FREMONT -- All lanes of traffic are now open following a four-vehicle crash along northbound Interstate 680 on Friday that clogged traffic in Alameda County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
No one was seriously injured.
Officers initially said the wreck involved a tour bus, but later said a bus was not involved.
The wreck took place on I-680 just north of Auto Mall Parkway, said Officer Ron Simmons.
Officers were dispatched at 9:13 a.m. to the interstate for a report of a multivehicle crash with possible injuries.
When officers arrived they discovered four vehicles had collided, said Officer Joe Azevedo.
No major injuries were reported in the crash but several people complained of aches and pains, Azevedo said. He also said one person broke a wrist.
Azevedo said speed played a role in the crash but that officers were investigating the exact cause.
