OAKLAND -- Two men killed last week in wind-related incidents were identified Monday by the Alameda County Coroner's Office.
A man killed about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 21, when his Volkswagen crashed into a tree in the 13000 block of Skyline Boulevard while apparently trying to avoid debris in the roadway, was identified as John Paul Koehn, 29, of Albany.
Koehn, known asn 'JP', played quarterback for the Albany High School football team and graduated in 2003, according to Oakland Tribune archives.
His funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2005 Berryman St., Berkeley.
A man killed about 8:10 p.m. Nov. 21, when a tree branch fell on him in the 2000 block of Austin Street in the Fruitvale district, was identified as Joshua Brown, 24, of Oakland.
Brown lived in another part of Oakland and it was originally reported he was electrocuted when hit by a falling power line. But a PG&E representative said utility lines were not involved and the coroner's office confirmed there were no burns on his body.
Funeral arrangements for Brown are pending.
