SAN JOSE -- Residents of a home off Capitol Expressway had a rude awakening Wednesday when three people they may know stormed inside, manhandled and bound them, and took off with personal property, guns possibly being among the stolen items, according to San Jose police.

The robbery was reported about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Angmar Court, near where Capitol Expressway and McLaughlin Avenue intersect, police said. Three intruders, one male, one female, and another unidentified person, entered, assaulted and tied up at least two residents, and ransacked the residence.

The intruders fled in a vehicle, but a description was not immediately available. The residents who were tied up suffered minor injuries but did not need medical treatment.

Police said the intruders and victims may have known each other, and that one of the intruders may have previously lived at the home. The victims claimed that firearms were among the items taken in the robbery, which investigators were working to verify Wednesday.
