Oakland and San Jose airport officials have announced new flights scheduled to start next June: From Oakland, Southwest Airlines will fly nonstop every day to Baltimore (BWI, officially Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport) starting June 8. Both the inbound and outbound flights are daylight flights, leaving before noon and arriving during afternoon or early evening hours.
Oakland hasn't had service to Baltimore in several years, airport official Scott Wintner said Wednesday, noting that Southwest last offered that route in 2006-07.
Also on June 8, Southwest will add a second daily nonstop from Oakland to Kansas City. From San Jose, Alaska Airlines will offer one daily nonstop Boeing 737 flight to Salt Lake City starting June 12. The outbound flight will leave SJC at 8:55 p.m. On the return service, which starts June 13, passengers will leave Utah at 7 a.m. Salt Lake represents the 12th market served by Alaska Airlines out of SJC.
Delta also flies nonstop from San Jose to Salt Lake, airport official Rosemary Barnes said.
