OAKLAND -- A woman was shot along East Oakland streets on Monday afternoon but was expected to survive, police said.

Just after 3 p.m. the unidentified woman was shot in the shoulder near the intersection of Fruitvale Avenue and East 15th Street, police said. Her injuries, police said, were not life-threatening and no one else was struck by gunfire.

After the shooting, someone reportedly picked the victim up, then dropped her off in the 2700 block of Vallecito Place -- several blocks from Highland Hospital.

No arrests have been made and no motive is known yet for the shooting.
