Ronda Rousey beat Miesha Tate to retain her UFC women's bantamweight title Saturday, but she handedly lost the battle with the crowd after the fight.

When Tate went to shake Rousey's hand after it was all over, Rousey outright refused, resulting in a shower of boos from spectators. In a post-fight interview with ESPN, Rousey explains her act.

"I commend Misha," said Rousey from Venice, Calif. "She's a great competitor, she's a great fighter. She did a fantastic job, but if you insult my family, my family comes before cheers for me," said Rousey.

She continued: "If you're the type of person to spit at my back, I can't shake your hand if you look at my face."
