OAKLAND -- Fire crews responded to a two-alarm blaze that started in the basement of an East Oakland home, officials said. Firefighters arrived about 3:40 p.m. in the 2600 block of Havenscourt Blvd. and discovered heavy flames shooting from the bottom level of the home, authorities said. The fire was brought under control about 4:40 p.m.

No injuries were immediately reported in the fire, officials said.
