EAST PALO ALTO -- Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting in East Palo Alto that left a man with a gunshot wound to his head.
Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Palo Verde Avenue at 1:44 p.m. after the city's gunshot detection technology picked up gunfire, according to police.
An 18-year-old East Palo Alto man suffered what police described as a "superficial" gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle and was later released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
