PACIFICA -- Police are searching for a driver who fatally struck a male pedestrian and fled.

At 7:42, officers received reports of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian, according to Pacifica police. Officers responded to the 100 block of Palmetto Avenue and found the male pedestrian in the roadway.

The man, who police say is about 50, died at the scene.

The suspect vehicle is described as a gray or dark colored vehicle, possibly a Monte Carlo, Charger, or similar type vehicle. The vehicle was last seen northbound on Palmetto Avenue towards Daly City, according to police.
