OAKLAND -- In an effort to generate tips that will lead to an arrest, police on Friday released a photo of a suspect sought in the August 2013 fatal shooting of a man in East Oakland.
Gary Shea, 50, is named in an arrest warrant as the suspect in the Aug. 31, 2013, killing of Corey Prentice, 48.
Prentice was visiting a friend at an apartment complex in the 4800 block of Daisy Street when he got into an argument with Shea outside the apartment and was shot, police said.
How the men knew each other and what the argument was over has not been released by police.
Shea was identified as the suspected gunman almost immediately after the shooting and has been sought since then.
He is white, about 5 feet 6 and 160 pounds with brown eyes and medium dark curly hair and possibly facial hair.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to Shea's arrest. Anyone with information may call Officer Leo Sanchez at 510-238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
