SAN JOSE -- About 50 San Jose firefighters brought a three-alarm fire under control midday Sunday, the San Jose Fire Department reported.

The fire on the 1800 block of Almaden Road, near the Highway 87 overcrossing, was reported at 11:20 a.m., in a one-story building. One person in or near the building suffered smoke inhalation, according to the fire department.

The blaze, of uncertain origin, was controlled about 12:30 p.m.

Portions of Almaden Road and Willow Glen Way remained closed to traffic early Sunday afternoon.
