SUNNYVALE -- A motorcyclist who was killed when he was knocked beneath a big-rig in slow-moving freeway traffic on Wednesday has been identified as Cedrick Comparan, 22, of San Jose.

According to the California Highway Patrol, early indications were that Comparan was sideswiped by a vehicle on Highway 101 south of the Lawrence Expressway around 6:15 p.m., landing under a big-rig UPS truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness reported that traffic was going under 10 mph, and that Comparan was riding his motorcycle slightly faster in between lanes when the accident occurred.

"He wasn't going that fast or doing anything dangerous at all," said Geneva Cedillo. "It just looked like a freak accident."
