SAN JOSE -- The police department is investigating the city's fourth homicide of 2014.

Early Sunday morning -- 1:24 a.m. -- the San Jose Police Department's emergency communications center received a report of someone stabbed in the 3400 block of Suncrest Avenue in East San Jose.

Officers rushed to the scene and found a male suffering from at least one stab wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead at 2:07 a.m..

The San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit took over the investigation, but no suspects had been identified or apprehended at press time.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending coroner notifications to next of kin.
