SAN JOSE -- A small plane crashed into a fence at Reid-Hillview Airport in East San Jose on Thursday, though no one was hurt.
The San Jose Fire Department was primed for a major response after getting a report of a plane crash at 4:15 p.m. But by the time the first crews arrived, the two occupants of the plane had already exited and were fine, Capt. Cleo Doss said.
The plane went into the fence along Ocala Avenue on the northern edge of the airport. Once firefighters confirmed that the pilot and passenger were OK, they canceled the remaining trucks that were ready to respond.
It's the second incident at the airport in the last couple of weeks. On Jan. 17, two small planes collided on the runway, though there were no injuries.
