FREMONT -- A man who was booted from a bar after a verbal fight with a bar bouncer has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after he returned with a gun and fired multiple rounds at the bouncer and 30 other patrons inside the bar, police said Saturday.

No one was injured.

Miguel Vargas, 31, of Newark was asked to leave the El Camino Bar on Niles Boulevard after the argument. He did, but according to police he then went home, grabbed a gun and came back to the bar and started shooting.

Police said the security guard chased after the suspect and detained him in the parking lot before officers arrived at 1:05 a.m. and arrested Vargas. The gun was located nearby.
