Amanda Bynes has made huge progress in her battle against mental illness, according to TMZ.
During a progress hearing on Tuesday, the judge gave big props to Bynes' mother and conservator Lynn Bynes for getting her daughter back on course.
Good for her. It's not as much fun as the old Amanda Bynes was for us, but good for her.
Bynes was hospitalized for months after a mental health breakdown last summer that included starting a fire on a neighbor's driveway and soaking her dog in gasoline. Doctors later diagnosed her with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Bynes' parents -- with whom she now lives in Oxnard -- appeared in court Tuesday, where a judge said, "Good job, Mrs. Bynes. Well done."
Bynes has quit acting and is now attending fashion design classes, intending to become a designer.
