SUNNYVALE -- A 28-year-old man is facing a charge he molested a child between about 9 years ago, according to law enforcement officials.
The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety arrested Michael Alexander Anthony on Feb. 11 on suspicion of molesting four children between 1999 and 2005, according to police Capt. Jeff Hunter. The children were between the ages of 3 and 8, Hunter said.
Anthony would have been between the ages of 13 and 19 at the time of the alleged sexual assaults.
Sunnyvale police say they located child pornography on Anthony's computers.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office has charged Anthony with a single count of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14 and possession of child pornography, according to prosecutor Stacey Capps.
Prosecutors allege Anthony molested a young female neighbor at least once between January of 2004 and December of 2006. He is next scheduled to appear in court on March 24.
Capps said she could not discuss any alleged crimes that may have occurred when Anthony was a minor.
Sunnyvale police say a victim "recently came forward" and notified investigators of the sexual assaults.
Sunnyvale police believe there are potentially other victims from the same time period of 1999-2005 and that the sexual assaults took place possibly near his residence on Brahms Way and in the area of El Camino Real and Cezanne Drive.
