OAKLAND -- A 19-year-old man was shot in the buttocks Sunday night in East Oakland, police said.
Two females with him, one 14 and the other 20, were not hit by the gunfire, police said.
Their names, where they live or whether any of them are related have not been released by police. The man was in stable condition at a hospital.
The shooting happened about 11 p.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of 55th Avenue near Hilton Street in the Melrose district.
Police said the three told officers they were "hanging out" in the area when a car containing two occupants pulled up and started talking to them. The car left but returned a few minutes later, and one of the occupants began shooting at the three, wounding just the man.
The suspects then drove away and are being sought. Police have not released a motive yet.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $15,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information may call investigators a t 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
