CASTRO VALLEY-- All lanes of westbound Interstate 580 have reopened following a shooting investigation on a stretch of freeway near 164th Avenue.
The 164th Avenue onramp was also reopened after being closed for several hours.
Around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, two miles of westbound Interstate 580 were closed west of Interstate 238 to 164th Avenue as the California Highway Patrol investigated a suspected freeway shooting, an agency spokesman said Thursday afternoon.
No one was hit or injured.
A motorist called the CHP claiming a window was shot out, but a shooting has not been confirmed, a CHP spokesman said.
