EMERYVILLE -- Two men have been arrested in Emeryville for a shooting that wounded eight people in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood on Sunday, police said.
Police on Monday arrested 25-year-old Curtis Warren and 24-year-old Verle Jones each on suspicion of eight counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
Emeryville police, using information from authorities in San Francisco, spotted the men in a car on a city street and took the men into custody. The suspects were later booked in San Francisco jail.
Police said one of the men got into the driver's seat of a parked Volkswagen Jetta while the other man grabbed a gun from car and fired into a crowd on the sidewalk at Turk and Taylor streets at 8:52 p.m. Sunday, injuring eight people. All the victims are expected to survive.
Police said a car was recovered but the gun used has not been found. The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information to call 415-575-4444.
