DANVILLE -- Village Theatre and Art Gallery will be showing a double feature of two John Hughes films, "Pretty In Pink" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" on May 25.

Hughes, who directed or scripted some of the most successful films of the 1980s and 1990s, is also famous for such films as"National Lampoon's Vacation," "The Breakfast Club" and "Sixteen Candles."

The double feature will begin with "Pretty in Pink," rated PG-13, which is about a sensitive teenager Andie who must choose between her childhood friend and a rich but sensitive playboy.

The second film "Ferris Bueller's,Day Off," also rated PG-13, is about a high school wise guy who is intent on taking a day off of school despite what his principal thinks.

These films may have mature themes and language; parental guidance is recommended.

The first film starts at 2 p.m., with a 15-minute intermission between films.
