An Oakland man was arrested Wednesday after he reportedly used a gun to threaten a Safeway clerk who had confronted him about shoplifting, according to the San Leandro Police Department.

Luke Vickery, 36, was arrested after he threatened a San Leandro Safeway employee and lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun, according to police.

The employee backed away and Vickery fled the store on his bike. He was located a few blocks away and his gun was revealed to be a replica.
