Clean out those garages and get ready for the Saturday launch of a five-day bulk waste drop-off in East Oakland, sponsored by Councilwoman Desley Brooks.

The service allows residents to get rid of bulk waste free of charge instead of dumping it on city streets, which has become a major problem in several neighborhoods.

Dumpsters to collect the trash will be located at 10 sites beginning Saturday. The program runs through Wednesday, however, once the bins are filled they will not be made available for additional trash, Brooks wrote.

The bins can be found at the following locations:

800 77th Ave.

750 Louisiana St.

10500 San Leandro St.

International Boulevard and 56th Ave.

66th Ave. and Fenham Street

Foothill Boulevard between Mason Street and Seminary Avenue

The area of 73rd Ave. and MacArthur Boulevard

Parkridge Drive at Skyline Boulevard

Mountain Boulevard between Kuhnle and Mountain View avenues
