Volunteer to Clean up Castro Valley -- Walk-in volunteers will be accepted at locations that still have space available to beautify and clean up Castro Valley 9 a.m. to noon April 26.

Party for the Planet -- Oakland Zoo will host one of the largest Earth Day celebrations in the East Bay, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 19. There will be tours of over 60 interactive Earth Stations throughout the zoo, live animal presentations, entertainment and more. All ages are welcome for a day of fun, learning and inspiration. Earth Day is included with regular zoo admission ($11.75 for children/seniors; $15.75 for adults; parking $8). Recycle a used ink cartridge or cell phone and receive a free train ride.
