SAN JOSE -- Police have identified the San Jose man who died Thursday after an early morning two-car crash as 42-year-old Christopher Luescher.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office said Luescher died around 8:10 p.m. from injuries suffered when his Chevy Suburban was involved in a wreck with a Honda CRV early that morning.
The other driver, whose name has not been released, suffered serious injuries and is in the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
Police suspect the other driver was under the influence of alcohol. The Santa Clara County District Attorney's office is reviewing the case and will determine what charges, if any, should be filed against the driver.
The collision was reported around 12:05 a.m. at the intersection of Almaden Expressway and Coleman Avenue, San Jose police said.
The driver of the Honda was traveling eastbound on Coleman and the Chevy was going northbound on Almaden Expressway when they collided, according to police Sgt. Heather Randol.
It is not known which vehicle ran a red light.
