SAN JOSE -- A man found bound at the wrists and possibly beaten to death in a warehouse parking lot off Monterey Road has been identified as a 48-year-old Antioch resident, authorities said.

The body of Dat Nguyen was discovered around 8 a.m. Tuesday by a passerby in a lot in the 1900 block of Monterey Road, near the Plant shopping center and west of the train tracks running through the area, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

When he was found, the victim was bound at the wrists with what appeared to be plastic zip ties and was clad only in boxer shorts. While police said he had bruising to his face, the exact cause of death was not immediately clear.

No motive or suspects have been identified in the case, which marks San Jose's 12th homicide of the year. At this point in 2013, 13 homicides had been recorded.
