ANTIOCH -- Police are investigating a series of more than two dozen overnight vandalism incidents in which suspects used rocks to damage residents' vehicles and homes.

About 1:33 a.m. Friday, officers began responding to reports of vandalism taking place at and around homes in Mira Vista Hills, Black Diamond Estates and Diamond Ridge, according to a statement from Antioch police Lt. Don LaDue.

Additional reports were made from other areas of the city but police did not name those neighborhoods.

Police said suspects traveled through the various neighborhoods and threw "river rocks" through the glass of vehicles and homes.

As of noon on Friday, officers had responded to about 25 vandalism calls, LaDue said. Additional reports continued to be made on Friday afternoon to dispatch and through the department's online reporting system.

All of the incidents appear to have taken place Thursday night. Anyone with information is asked to call the department's non-emergency line at 925-778-2441. Anonymous tips can be sent by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "Antioch" in the body of the text.
