Jay Z and Beyonce have combined to sell some 300 million records worldwide and have won 36 Grammy Awards, according to news release from PR Newswire. They recently collaborated on the smash single "Drunk in Love."
Both acts have performed recently in the Bay Area.
Beyonce played two dates, spaced exactly five months apart, at the SAP Center in San Jose in 2013 as part of The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. The most recent fell on Dec. 2, which came just days before Beyonce released her self-titled fifth studio album.
Jay Z brought his Magna Carter World Tour to that same venue on Dec. 11. That solo outing was in support of his most recent multiplatinum affair, "Magna Carta ... Holy Grail."
The road trip with Beyonce is the latest of several big co-headlining jaunts for Jay-Z. Last year, he teamed up with Justin Timberlake on the Legends of Summer stadium trek, which touched down in July at Candlestick Park in San Francisco.
Jay Z also joined forces with Kanye West on the Watch the Throne tour, which hit SAP Center in 2011. Before that, Jay had co-headlined excursions with Mary J. Blige, Eminem and others.
