FREMONT -- A 28-year-old Fremont man faces charges in connection with an auto burglary spree throughout the city, police said Thursday.
Kris Sylvester was arrested April 23 at the intersection of Stevenson Boulevard and Davis Street in the city's Sundale neighborhood. He was held on suspicion of auto burglary, commercial burglary, possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a credit card, police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said.
During the arrest, officers recovered stolen property, including credit cards taken from an auto burglary that took place at Little Flowers Montessori School earlier that day, Bosques said.
Officers were able to return property to the victim of that car burglary because Sylvester was arrested across the street from the school located in the 4300 block of Stevenson Boulevard, Bosques said.
Officers also recovered other items that investigators believe were taken during vehicle break-ins in other city neighborhoods. Police did not specify where the other crimes occurred.
The incidents remained under investigation on Thursday and officers continued their efforts to identify additional auto burglary victims.
