OAKLAND -- A man was shot multiple times Monday morning while sitting in a parked car in East Oakland, police said.
Someone in the area drove the man to a hospital where he was being treated for his wounds. His name and age were not released, nor his condition.
The shooting happened about 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a housing complex in the 1200 block of 65th Avenue.
The man had just driven to the complex from a trip to a store and was waiting for someone when he was shot.
It was not known if he was shot by someone in another vehicle or someone on the sidewalk.
Police don't have a motive yet for the shooting and no arrests have been made.
Futures Elementary School, located near the scene, was briefly locked down after the shooting.
