OAKLAND -- A man was shot in the arm outside his East Oakland home Wednesday night by a gunman who then stole his truck, police said Thursday.
The man was in stable condition at a hospital and will recover, authorities said.
The man was sitting in his truck about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday outside his home in the 2000 block of 23rd Avenue when a man with a gun approached him and ordered him out of the vehicle.
When the man got out he was shot. The suspect then fled in the truck. The robber and the truck were being sought Thursday.
The truck is a 2002 burgundy Dodge Dakota.
The robber is described as black, about 30 years old, 6 feet 2 with short hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and bluejeans.
