After serving more than 11 years, Rhonda Ceccato said she will resign June 4 from the San Mateo County Board of Education.
Ceccato, who represents South San Francisco and is board president, is moving out of the area in the summer, before her term expires in December.
She joined the board in December 2002. She announced her decision to resign at the Wednesday board meeting.
The board will discuss whether to call a special election or make a provisional appointment to fill the seat, formally known as Trustee Area 3. Those interested in representing the area may contact county Superintendent of Schools Anne Campbell at firstname.lastname@example.org or 650-802-5554.
Ceccato also served on the South San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and on the San Mateo County Office of Education Court and Community Schools Blue Ribbon Task Force.
