CONCORD -- A 1-year-old boy fell in a swimming pool Sunday evening and was rescued by firefighters and flown to a Concord hospital, a fire official said.
A spokesman for the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said the boy was in critical condition Sunday night.
The circumstances of how the boy fell into the pool were not immediately available.
The incident occurred about 6:15 p.m. at a house in the 1700 block of Ducker Court in Concord. Paramedics, police and fire worked together to rescue the child, start CPR and transport him to John Muir Medical Center in Concord. He was then flown to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
No other details were available Sunday night.
